Welcome to Caistor Multi Use Centre

The Caistor multi-use Centre project was an initiative, led by the Caistor Development Partnership and Caistor Town Council, to develop the use of ground floor rooms in the old magistrates as it is nowcourt house at 19 South Street, Caistor. The centre was officially opened on 7th October 2006 by Roger Douglas JP, the High Sheriff of Lincolnshire. The photograph shows (Left to right) Arthur Dawson J.P., Cllr Colin Helstrip and his Wife - Chairman of Official Opening Lincolnshire County Council (2006-2007), Cllr David Hill - Caistor Town Council, Cllr Mick Tinker - Chairman of West Lindsey District Council (2006-2007), Roy Schofield - Chairman of Caistor Development Partnership and Roger Douglas J.P.

The project reflects the needs of the community founded upon the results of consultation undertaken in 2001 and more recently the consultation at Caistor Town Hall in June 2005. The Caistor multi-use Centre Working Group has been liasing closely with Lincolnshire County Council Multi Use Centres Team and other agencies in the creation of this community facility.

The project has adapted existing premises and increased the area of community space within the town centre, enhanced access to voluntary and statutory services. It has improved the quality of life for residents and provides tourist information for visitors. It provides a fully equiped meeting room with audio/visual aids for 14 to 16 people, a one to one interview room, office, kitchenette and toilet. All of which are DDA compliant and are available for hire. It is staffed by volunteers who continue to develop new services for the benefit of the community.

What do we do ?

We provide a full range of tourist information for visitors to the area. This includes a range of walks in and  around the Lincolnshire Wolds prepared by the Wolds Countryside Service and a series of walks specifically aimed at the use of the route 3 bus route between Cleethorpes and Lincoln. We also have details of other places to visit and attractions in the area (See the www.caistor.net web site for details).

We have created a service information index of services available from statutory and voluntary organisations and in addition Brochures and leaflets are supplied by Lincolnshire County Council, Caistor Town Council, West Lindsey District Council, Other Statutory Bodies and Voluntary Organisations. Leaflets that we have are are listed alphabetically and also by our rack number.
